A global retail brand of sports equipment and accessories employs hearing impaired bright youngsters as salespersons in their showrooms. Continuous training of floor staff is an important feature of their HR activities. Communication with the customers is very important in the daily work of salespersons. Though the specially able staff is bright, they had difficulty in actively participating in the training. So the brand approached TranslationPanacea.
Solution
Our sign language interpreters went for the training and interpreted both ways. This enabled the staff to actively participate in the training. Indian sign language is what is commonly used in India and the interpretation was done in Indian sign language.
Value to the client
The objective of inclusive employment was truly achieved as all the staff could have the same training. The special staff could perform better due to the training. This boosted their confidence tremendously. Also, the outlook of other staff towards special staff changed a lot and the communication among them got better.
